big apple day 5 - central park!

we went to the other end of central park this time round, and this is the place where we had al fresco breakfast..

damn romantic horz? such a cool place to have picnic-style breakfast.

oh, we meet up with pam and gang at the hotel the night before and discovered we're all going to visit central park the next day. and so the whole lot of us decided to go central park together.

us girls enjoying our breakfast in front of the lake. the "mat" is actually a poncho we've "goped" from AP. morey's employee welfare is not bad ahz, they give out ponchos to operators on duty under the drizzles. haha~

great, i realised we didnt take photo of our breakfasts. anywayz, we brought our complimentary breakfast from the hotel there, just simple pastries plus coffee/tea. but i think it's pretty decent breakfast, at least all the pastries taste delicious. kind of miss it now. sigh~

and the guys..

siwei caught smoking in the 1st photo, then tried to hide the cigarette in the 2nd. haha~

group photo in front of the central park lake and bridge, the place where many screen productions were filmed (i think). nice nice~

girls on the bridge, with pretentious pose. haha~

us girls again, under the bridge. there must be more than a dozen such bridges all around central park.

then we went to visit the central park carousel..

the ones in morey's are so much prettier lorz. this carousel spins super fast, i wonder if the kids came out feeling all dizzy. haha~

there are alotta benches in central park, and they all have labels on them. it's like adopt-a-bench program, the labels bore messages from different people.

and this particular bench label outside the carousel read "... mahjong association ..." photo specially captured for all friends who love mj! hehe~

did i mention that central park is a gigantic park right smacked in the middle of manhattan city? it spans across 50 streets! and we've only been to less than half of it. it's quite easy to get lost inside cuz of the lack of directional signs by the way.

came across a playground before we walk out of central park..

and we decided to take a swing,

plus a slide. many thanks to andrew and siwei for being our photographers the whole morning! hee~

had a great time in central park, it's gd to have a relaxing place in the middle of a bustling city. sg's parks are nothing as compared to central park, i would say. another must-go place in nyc.

we left central park after that, caught a bus to times square.

us waiting for the bus at the (duhz) bus stop.

it was the first time we took a bus in nyc, been taking the subway all the time cuz the bus map is harder for us 3 "golden flowers" to fathom. haha~

once u board the bus, u put your metrocard into this machine located at the entrance. the machine will suck your card in, scan it, then spit it out automatically. there is no need to choose fare value as it's a flat fee of $2/ride, no matter where your destination.

after taking our 1st bus ride, i conclude bus is only a better option if u'r travelling to places where the subway doesnt serve well enough. cuz the buses stop every 2 blocks (like every 100 metres) and traffic is heavy in nyc, nearly went crazy upon seeing how e bus crawled. faintz~

day 5 to be continued, stay tuned!~
