woodbury!

day 6 in the big apple is a spree day at woodbury!~ wahahahaha~

we caught a coach from penn station to woodbury premium outlets which is about 45mins away from manhattan.

the journey took more than 45mins though, cuz of a freak jam. it was past rush hour but there's still heavy traffic, weird. stupid jam deprived us of more time to shop. grr~

bus driver said that's hudson river, famous for trickling through the whole eastern breadth of new york state.

and then we finally reached woodbury!

being one of the largest factory outlet in US, it has about 220 stores with tourists visiting it from all around the world. the place looks abit retro to me, little wooden houses and all.

it's seriously huge, just look at the directory! so vast, their shops need to be coded in 5 different colours!

but it was kind of empty while we were there, probably cuz it's a weekday or cuz everybody were in the stores cheong-ing all the cheap-ass stuffs. haha~

actually we visited and bought from a few stores only. nike, adidas, disney, liz claiborne, polo ralph, levi's, fcuk, puma, quiksilver. 9 out of 220 = less than 5% of the stores.

i was having a good-hair day and pestered ting to help me capture my good-hair-day hair. okay totally narcissistic i noe, ting nearly slapped me. LoL~

predicting that we'll buy lotsa stuffs, we brought our haversacks there to dump all our buys inside. that way the numerous shopping bags wont hinder our shopping process. hohoho~

quite amusing, come to think of it now. haha~

but we still had to carry some shopping bags back cuz our haversacks were stuffed. no, im not exaggerating. some of the stores there are only a few dollars cheaper than boutiques, but some are much cheaper.

for instance, we totally went crazy at fcuk cuz it's soooooo bloody cheap! that lovely jacket and jeans only cost USD70 altogether! super kawaiiiii stitch for USD5! muahahaha~

besides fcuk, another of my really cheap buy was a big liz claiborne carryall for my mum for only SGD20. ting's nike track shoes are USD30 and zen's roxy tees are only USD2.50 each!

i've never shopped that fast before: quick browse, quick try-out, quick payment, quickly move on. cuz our coach back to manhattan leaves at a specific 4pm, if dont practise speed shopping we wont be able to finish combing the stores b4 that.

but still, we arrived at the boarding area 5 minutes late (cuz we went gaga at fcuk last min) and the coach left. wth.

gotta go info centre and spent another USD15 to buy a one-way ticket from another coach line to get back. haiz~

so in total we spent about USD40+ on the transport to/fro woodbury, offsetting the cheaper outlet prices we paid on the merchandise there.

and the worse thing is that pam & co. also bought fcuk stuffs at the same price as us, from the fcuk store in fifth avenue. hmmm.
