New York Pass - Day 1 (Part 1)

There are so many places to go in NYC! But alot of them require pricey entry fees! Seriously, I think most of them are overpriced. So, we decided to get a new york pass. It cost us 89usd for 2 days and it allows us to go to most of the places of interest. Being accountants, the 3 golden flowers got to make sure that they maximised the use of the new york pass. Oh, and not forgetting, this time round we got our dear bulgarian, Anastas, for company!! Hence, armed with a new york pass and a metro card, here we go!!

Day 1: Empire State Building + American Museum of Natural History+Rockefeller Center Tour+NBC Tour+Madame Tussaud's

First stop: Empire State Building

Quite an impressive building if you see it from a picture. Eh, somehow we were kind of disappointed when we saw the real thing. The Empire State building is just one of the many skyscrapers there. It does not look as magnificant as we expected it to be.

We went for the NY skyride before going up the observatory deck. No pictures are allowed there so we don't have anything to show. The NY skyride and Morey's skyride are worlds apart. The NY skyride is something like a motion ride. Remember cinemania at sentosa? Ya, something like that. The queue to get to the observatory deck was crazy. The lucky thing is that our pass allowed us to skip some lines.

The observatory deck is at 80 something floor. Can't remember exactly. Haha. I must admit the view is great. The pictures can speak for themselves right? But after awhile, I got quite bored of all the buildings. :P

Second stop: American Museum of Natural History

This museum is huge. We spent quite abit of time there. There are countless exhibits such as Hall of biodiversity, Rose centre for Earth and space, Hall of African animals, Hall of Asia, Gems Centre and blah blah. And of course, the dinosaurs' fossils. I don't think we were able to finish all as there are really too much to see!

This is what that first greeted us at the Hall of African animals.

Can't remember what is this. Haha. We very onz.

The fossils! Personally, I found these the most fancinating. Most of the bones that made up the skeleton are not the real thing, just replicates.

The Asian hall. Oops, the pic is too small. Pai seh. Anyway, that day we kind of forced Anastas to stand in front of the 'chinese temple' and posed for a pic. Haha. Talk about difference in cultures.

Qian said,"Must take this to show polar bear!!" -.-

These are real, solid gold! In one particular hall, there are loads of gems and precious stones on display. But I think we don't really know how to appreciate them. Haha.

Part 2 coming up soon!
