New York Pass - Day 1(Part 2)

A continuation of the previous entry. This is going to be a long blog. Ha. Too many photos!

Third stop: Rockefeller Centre Tour + NBC Tour

The Rockefeller Centre consists of quite a number of buildings. As it houses the NBC, we took the 2 tours together. Apart from NBC, the centre is also the home for alot of other famous stuff such as the huge xmas tree which you can always see on tv and also a ice-skating rink. It's not xmas yet so there's no xmas tree and it's summer so no ice and hence no rink. Wahahaha.

The tour guide explained every single detail of Rockefeller, including the history as well as the structure. Damn pro. The Rockefeller also hosted alot of art pieces to add on to its glam. The black sulpture is Atlas who is carrying the globe. Eh, I don't know who the golden boy is. Haha. Can anyone remember?

This is a very cool ceiling painting that is found in one of the buildings. What this meng nan carrying is a balance with 2 hourglasses (our camera cannot capture the whole thing. bah.). One of which represents the past and the other represents the future. The amazing thing is that is you look at this pic from either side, you will find that the man will lean to the opposite side. The guide said Rockefeller's initial intention was to get Picasso to be the artist for the ceiling painting. The dumbz thing is that when they wrote a letter to Picasso, they got his first name wrong. Really very dumbz. Haha. So in the end, they got to get another person but I think this person did a fabulous job too.

Right up next, is the NBC tour!! Very exciting about this. Hehe. Too bad we were not allowed to take any pictures inside the studio. Anyway the studios are all freezing cold!! Why? Cos the numerous equipment, including all the spotlights, when turned on will greatly increase the temperature of the room, so they got to keep the temperature down by using air-con.

Final stop: Madame Tussaud's

Can't believe how crazy we got when we went to Madame Tussaud's. Really like a bunch of siao char bors. Wahahaha. It's so fun. Madame Tussaud's New York is located at Times Square and I think it's rather new. So new that they had not finished all the exhibits when we were there. Made me so disappointed that I can't hug Beckham.

We went their haunted house - House of Wax. 45 seconds of screaming. I must say they are gooood. Ha. A picture with one of the 'scarers'.

Dinner: Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.

This is a Forrest Gump themed restaurant. Cool ritez! Think Bubba is Forrest's mate who went into the Shrimp business with him. I watched the movie ages ago so I can't remember anything much. The 2 coloured plates are there for a purpose. If you need the help of the server, just flip to 'Stop, Forrest, Stop'. We tried but nobody came over. Haha. Maybe they trying hard to be like the movie. When the people asked Forrest to stop running, he also never stopped. :P

Do you know that Forrest Gump symbolises love and hope? And, my favourite quote in the restaurant goes like this, ' I am a simple man but I know what love is'. So sweet~~

After such a fulfilling day, we went back to our hotel. Dead beat.
